About Carpet Bob
Two brothers from Melbourne, and a Cairns shop with forty years behind it.
Will and Dan Hortomaris are qualified floor finishers and carpet layers. They moved north one after the other and took over Carpet Bob together in 2024.
How we got here
Melbourne
A passion for the trade
Will and Dan grew up in Melbourne and both trained as floor finishers and carpet layers. They love the trade and the work of putting a floor down properly, and that is what eventually led them to Carpet Bob.
2020
Dan makes the move north
Dan and his wife moved to Cairns in 2020 for a better lifestyle and a change of pace. He kept laying carpet for several local flooring shops, got to know the community and settled into life in Far North Queensland.
2023
Will joins him in Cairns
In 2023 Will and his family made the move too. With both brothers living in Cairns, a new chapter started for the family, and soon after came the chance to go into business together.
2024
Taking over Carpet Bob
When the previous owner was ready to retire, Dan gave Will a call and the brothers bought the business together. They took over in early 2024, carrying on four decades of serving Cairns with their own experience and ideas.
Today
Growing with our community
Since taking over, Will and Dan have expanded the business and kept the values it was founded on. A new showroom is being fitted out, the range has grown, and they are looking forward to welcoming you into the new space.
